► Tonight, I was thinking about Sang Jiu from Till the End of the Moon, as one does, and it occurred to me that if you did the typical fandom of Chinese media way of shortening of her name, it would be SJ, just like Shen Jiu—and then it occurred to me that Shen Jiu would actually quite like Sang Jiu. Pre-tragedy, she has a lot of similar traits as NYY and Qiu Haitang, and I think he’d have a soft spot for her because of that. Whereas post-tragedy… that’s a little trickier, but I don’t think he’s about to go try to talk her out of what she does, or see the problem with her taking vengeance on her enemies like that.

Now, I don’t think the two of them meeting would necessarily be good for them. Shen Jiu is absolutely not the person to go to for Sang Jiu to heal from her trauma, lol. But he would like her.

► In other news, I found out this morning that this year’s round of the

threesentenceficathon is running right now! I have quite the soft spot for this particular ficathon, so I’m going to try to carve out the time to do at least a few fills.

I also signed up for this season’s round of

seasonsofdrabbles today. It occurs to me that the appeal of drabbles and three sentence fics are fairly similar for me—they’re both about capturing something—a moment, a character, a feeling, something—within a constrained format, and the results of that have, imo, the potential to be quite striking and impactful.
