cute bite and scum villain vampire au thoughts
► Yesterday, I played through Cute Bite, a game that’s been on my Steam wishlist for a while now. It’s one of those Princess Maker-style raising simulators… with the twist in this one being that you’re raising your vampiric mistress, who has become de-aged and amnesiac after being locked in a coffin for a very long time.
More specifically: said vampiric mistress (default name Buttercup) was locked away by her “father” (the MC’s previous master), who the MC (default name Saule) had been reliant on for her own immortality. So now she has one year to help her new vampiric mistress regain her adult form, because otherwise she won’t have the power to perform the ritual that extends Saule’s life.
It was a pretty cute game, and a fun example of the genre! Nothing groundbreaking, true, but very charming. My first ending involved Buttercup becoming a magnanimous dark overlord/goddess, pretty much. Determined to save the world, and very certain that she is the right person to decide what sacrifices must be made to achieve that goal. :) Honestly, I’m into it. I’m not sure what aspects play into which ending, but her highest stat was insight, followed by dominance, and she also had very high sensitivity and awareness, all of which I could see playing into her becoming that type of person.
I suspect that Saule is a potential romantic option for the vampiric mistress, but there was no romance in my playthrough, though they had a good relationship—she saw Saule as a good friend and companion, which was quite sweet.
► About an hour into the game, I found myself thinking of my current tendency to turn everything into Scum Villain fic fodder, and thought to myself, “ha, even I can’t turn this into fic for Scum Vi—wait. Bing-ge. Bing-ge being de-aged back to his amnesiac white lotus self and being raised by SQQ… SQQ’s life being dependent on how well he raises Binghe or not… oh no, this actually works way too well.”
Especially if we throw transmigration into the mix! In Cute Bite, it’s clear that Saule was essentially a slave for the previous master—even her thoughts were not truly her own. Later on, however, it’s later revealed that she was actually responsible for the "accident" that led to the master being dusted, despite all the restrictions placed upon her—she had to be very careful about it, not allowing herself to think about what she was doing or why.
Essentially enslaved, sneakily plotting, being responsible for the death of the person who enslaved her… that’s incredibly Shen Jiu coded. But of course, if he’s responsible for raising a white lotus Binghe… well, we all know how that would turn out, lol. He probably wouldn’t be quite as terrible as in canon, if only because his life literally depends on Binghe growing up well, but I still can’t imagine it being a good relationship… would make for groundwork for some fun fucked-up bingjiu, actually.
But of course, while I’m not against fun fucked-up bingjiu, what my heart really wants is Bingqiu. So keep the set-up of SJ secretly plotting the old master’s death, then have SQQ transmigrate in at the moment when he finds the dust pouring out of the opened coffin. You could even work the System into this set-up quite easily, considering the stats menu and the one year deadline!
Also, I kind of love the idea of SQQ thinking of Binghe as his sweet little white lotus even as Binghe is regularly hunting/terrorizing/robbing the townspeople to replenish his health bars (and wallet). Look… the little vampiric mistress is canonically super adorable while hunting down her prey (at least, I think she looks super adorable)... it fits!
Also….. in canon, the vampiric mistress has a tendency/option to bite things that aren’t bodies filled with blood (books, bouncy balls, hats, etc…) to gain stats and. Just imagine white lotus Binghe randomly biting into things with his cute vampire fangs. So cute…
Saule is also the instructor for at least one of the classes the vampiric mistress can take, so you can even work the Shizun thing into this! To my endless delight <3
Honestly, I really really like this concept. It doesn't hurt that I am a big fan of vampires! Vampiric white lotus Binghe falling in love with his Shizun, trying to romance him and failing (because SQQ is oblivious and Binghe is in the form of a teenager), only to regain his adult form at the end of the year and turning out to be super hot and needing to perform hot blood kink ceremonies in order extend SQQ’s life… SQQ feeling a certain Kind Of Way about hot adult Binghe feeding him his blood… yesss <3
(Actually, that’s another data point for this AU actually working really well for Scum Villain: Saule needing to drink the vampiric mistress’ blood for her immortality as a parallel to SQQ having Binghe’s blood parasites within him!)
