0002 | in which there is more ramblings on final fantasy iv
I have to wait for my older brother to get ready before we can go buy pre-stain stainer for wood (for our bookshelves; my mom wants me to get those all nice-looking before we set them up in the new house), so I figured I'd use this time to start on an entry.
► An update on my progress with Final Fantasy IV. It's progressing more slowly than it was before, mainly because I can only play it during my free time (of course), and I haven't had as much of it as I did in my first two days of playing it. I believe I've played, in total, around nineteen or twenty hours by now, but I'm not 100% sure of that, and I don't want to turn my PSP on just to check that.
Again, please don't spoil me for anything past where I currently am in the game. Thank you! ♥
If this entry had been written more than two days ago, there probably would have been quite a bit more sobbing over character death. First Tellah, then Yang, then Cid—!!!
I mean, of course I was the most affected by Tellah's death, because of the three, he was my favorite. The entire time leading up to that scene where he used Meteor on Golbez, I was all, "oh no oh no please don't oh no".
Yang's death surprised me in that I was startled by how emotional it made me, considering how I spent most of the game feeling completely neutral towards him. As for Cid... I won't say I was unaffected by his supposed demise, but most of any emotional reaction I would have had was counteracted by my thinking, "wtf, why does setting off a bomb require him to leap off of an airship? Really, Cid?" Maybe I missed something, but that just baffled me.
Of course, then I found out he was alive. How he managed to survive that fall is anyone's guess. In any case, his survival certainly did not surprise me as much as Yang's. Pardon my language, but holy shit was I surprised to find him with the sylphs.
In other news, I have Rydia again! ♥ This makes me ridiculously happy. I wasn't too pleased with her appearance at first— to me, her sprite made it look like she was wearing a bikini, which, what?— but then I finally got around to actually watching the opening, and saw that it was actually a dress with a belt, which I feel suits her better.
That's all I have time to talk about at the moment; maybe next time I'll actually comment on the story, haha. Right now, however, I need to go get to work.
