102 | in which I squee about the second season of Dragon Friends, & also have internet again

► I loved the last two episodes of season two of Dragon Friends— or, really, this entire season, but especially the last two episodes, because holy hell, that was an EXCELLENT finale, and I am so, so excited that it looks like Baston is definitely going to be a part of the next season! I’ve grown so super attached to his character, and was already starting to be sad at the thought that he was probably going to be left behind in Barovia, so, really, that portal opening and sucking the Dragon Friends in was pretty much the best way that season could have ended.

I also loved, loved, loved Philge becoming a Level 1 Wizard ♥ ♥ ♥ and her player’s decision to not know what her two spells are until she casts them was pretty much the best decision ever, I am so in love.

Also, Freezo figuring out/reforging Sergei’s sword! HOW COOL WAS THAT. And then promptly failing to use it, ahahaha. ♥ Though I feel like Philge’s player missed a real opportunity when explaining why she went into a rage— being angry about Freezo’s terrible sword skills/that they keep giving the warlock the magic sword would have been a terribly amusing reason.

ALSO THE PORTAL. Not to harp on the point, but love the portal thing— though I really hope they didn’t go into our real-world parallel, because that’s literally the only setting I’d be bored by. But I think that it’ll probably be a setting we didn’t see? Though when the DM mentioned the glimpse of the high seas, I instantly and ferociously wanted SOMETHING with the group on the HIGH SEAS and encountering PIRATES and yes, if the next season doesn’t go there, I definitely know what I’m adding to my requests the next time I ask for Dragon Friends for an exchange. (I’m...also sorted of tempted to write it myself, but we’ll see. In any case, I definitely want to see where the next season goes first.)

I was completely surprised when Edvard showed up, though! For some reason, I expected his reappearance to be in another season. I also didn’t quite expect him to...die, quite so quickly. And without it being Freezo doing the actual killing.

Bobby using a spell to make himself look like Irena was inspired, and I only regret that Straud didn’t fall for it. His voice for her was so good!

(To what should be to no one’s surprise, I really wasn’t into the whole magic coin thing. Blech.)

I was also just looking through some of my notes for future DW entries, and I realized that there was actually quite a few amazing scenes I never talked about from earlier episodes! (Probably because I haven’t updated my DW in about a million years, whoops.) LIKE PHILGE SLAMMING FREEZO AGAINST A BOOKCASE (and Bobby joining in). Ngl, that was incredibly hot, and just basically confirmed me being all aboard the shipping train for these three. And then Bobby and Philge continuing to be upset with him in the next episode! AND THE HAND-HOLDING, god, I was so into the hand-holding when they found themselves in the crypt and couldn’t see anything.

And this was in the second-to-last episode of the season as well, but Baston doing flying kicks at all the doors/curtains. Especially when said kick fails. ♥

tl;dr I love this podcast, and have way too many feelings about all of the characters.

► also, hi! The above bit was actually going to be a part of a larger entry also about other things, but I didn't get around to writing the rest it before I came home again. So yes, I'm back home, and now have 24/7 Internet connection again. (And just in time for Yuletide!) It feels incredibly luxurious.

Only one episode to go for the season, but the new Wixoss has been stellar. I have ended up liking it more than the original, and I am very fond of the original.
