110 | the daily Mystic Messenger update: Zen's route, Day 07
I actually have a lot to say about today (and the end of yesterday) in Mystic Messenger?
First, I want to share my (real-time, not in-game) reaction to a VN segment from yesterday/last night.
Zen: My injury healed in one day, when a similar injury on someone else would normally take two weeks to heal!
Me: ...................Are you even human.
Seriously, Zen. ._.
On that note, I love how many VN segments there were today! It did take away from the immersive element (especially the glimpses into Zen’s past), but I feel like what we got in story was well worth it. Especially since we get to see both the snippets of what the main character sees (through Zen’s messages and phone calls to her) as well as what actually happened to prompt those reaction.
I’m surprised that the main character and Zen actually met today! I actually was pretty convinced that it wouldn’t happen until the last day. I’m not complaining, though— pretty much everything about that meeting was perfect, omg. Also, THE GAME READ MY MIND with the grocery shopping thing, haha. After that phone call yesterday, when Zen mentioned his poor shopping habits, my immediate reaction was, ‘I want to take him grocery shoppingand cook him a proper meal’. (Well, he ended up being the one to cook, but one out of two isn’t bad. Especially if that one is the one I least expected to actually see.)
I do wonder why Jumin is so fixated on that cat food commercial… I understand pretty much all of his reactions from today (especially how he was totally not hurt, nope, I’m just offended by Zen constantly turning down his help but accepting it from other people) except that one. Like. Is an allergy really that difficult to understand???
(Elizabeth the 3rd is a beauty, though. Like, I’m pretty sure admiring her cuteness was not the right answer to that choice, but. I can’t say anything against such a cute cat. I really can’t.)
Something that occurred to me when I was typing this all up— it’s actually been a while since I reacted to something that Zen said with an internal ‘omg, you dork ♥’. Though that’s probably because I’m now in the traditional “let’s see what hidden depths you have” part of his route. Which. I do enjoy that too. ♥
