151 | in which I start to replay Star Stealing Prince, again
► The other day, I was reminded that the song Tropes Are Forever exists, and now it’s stuck in my head, ha. ♥ (...And I just realized that the original post has a download link. brb, adding this to my iTunes.)
► I been toying around with the idea of replaying Star Stealing Prince again for a few months now, but kept putting it off because “I should really focus on cutting down my backlog”! But then I decided that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to refresh my memory for exchange-requesting purposes*, so I finally started that replay.
* Especially since I kind of want to request something from this game + one that I remember even less of for
femslashex (yes, I know I said I wasn’t going to do any more exchanges until Trick or Treat, shhhh). So of course I started off with the game that’s both shorter and that I remember better...
Right now, I’m at the very start of chapter two. ...So far, most of my reactions have been “damnit, I should have nominated that relationship for Darkest Night, and those characters, and that—!” Haha. Oh well, I’m still happy with my planned requests; I’ll just have to keep the other ones in mind for next year.
(Seriously, though, while I don’t actually ship Snowe/his demon, in the context of a dark fic—? Yeah, I could go for it. Especially after the demon went, all “my little prince” at him in his dream. Ugh, he’s so creepy. It’s great.)
I spent a lot of time running around talking to everyone, as always— but this time I actually stumbled on something new! Which is to say, I don’t think I’ve ever actually talked to Vera about the battle system before— presumably because I assumed it’d just be tutorial-type stuff, and wasn’t interested— but it turns out there’s actually some worldbuilding in there! ♥ Mostly, it’s about how the elemental affinities are decided— apparently it’s based on which season a person is born in. For my personal reference:
Summer = fire
Winter = water
Autumn = air
Spring = earth
...Which means that we can also extrapolate the general time of the year in which each of the playable characters were born, yessss. ♥ Plus, I finally know that there's an in-game reason for why only certain characters can learn from certain tomes!
Also: to no one’s surprise, Snowe is an utter darling. ♥ At one point he said something along the lines of “I inherited this kingdom, and so I inherited everything my parents and this kingdom did”, and, ugh, I just wanted to hug him. I love him so much, the poor exhausted sweetheart. (Well, I suppose he’s not really exhausted yet, but I know it’s coming.)
Finally, I... really like Snowe’s relationship with the Numismatist? I’ve only gotten to their first meeting so far, and I can’t remember much about their later interactions, but I love how… weirdly accepting Snowe is of all the weird things the Numismatist says, once he gets past the initial shock of a ghost trying to talk to him instead of trying to kill him.

10 and 118-11 hours; I just checked my save file for my last replay of the game and saw that it took much less time than I'd remembered.
